Attribute Group

Attribute Group is a set of product attributes combined by a specific purpose (default ones) or category. Every marketplace has a certain category structure developed to arrange the listings in the most relevant way. Correspondingly, every marketpace category has a set of properties that are only specific to a certain product type.

On Sellbery, there are 3 default Attribute Groups that are common for all product types in all sales channels:

Description: Name, Description, Short Description, Tags Name.
Dimensions: Weight, Dimensions Length, Dimensions Width, Dimensions Height.
Inventory & Pricing: SKU, Sale Price, Date On Sale From, Date On Sale To, Price, Quantity.

The list of additional Attribute Groups is different for every sales channel and each marketplace category.

New Attribute Groups cannot be created manually! But in some cases, it is possible to add custom attributes into existing groups.

The list of Attribute Groups is displayed on the Shortcut page on Sellbery.

You can create new Shortcuts based on Attribute Groups.

See below an example from WooCommerce Service:

Description: Name, Description, Short Description, Tags Name.
Dimensions: Weight, Dimensions Length, Dimensions Width, Dimensions Height.
Inventory & Pricing: SKU, Sale Price, Date On Sale From, Date On Sale To, Price, Quantity.
Attributes: all attributes not included in the previous 3 groups (can be configured by the user).

Another example from Etsy Service:

As you can see, Etsy Service offers a lot more groups than WooCommerce. This is caused by the fact that Etsy is a marketplace with pre-defines categories while on WooCommerce all categories are created manually by the store admin. The same applies to Amazon and eBay as marketplaces, and Shopify as an eCommerce platform, correspondingly.

Attribute Groups are also used to categorize the Shortcuts and quickly apply them to multiple or individual products in the Export Service.

To apply the Shortcut from an Attribute Group to an individual product, you need to:

Open the product page in the Export Service and find the required group (Description, in this case):

Select the Shortcut created for this group:

To apply the changes, press the 'Save' button on the right-bottom side of the page.

Done! You have changed the Shortcut for the Description Attribute Group for this product.
