Product Variations

Product variations are combinations of attributes like size or color that let your customers choose between product options using drop-down or step-by-step menus. Sometimes, the configuration of variable products depends on the marketplace category in which the product is located.


For instance, you sell T-shirts with two attributes: size and color. The size attribute has two values: Small and Medium. The color attribute has two values: Black and White. You will get four variations for these attributes:

  • Small / Black
  • Small / White
  • Medium / Black
  • Medium / White


Please note that each variation must be unique and has its own SKU, Price, and Quantity.

Variations in Sellbery


After linking your products from the Export Services to Sellbery products, Sellbery handles all your variations. Unfortunately, it means that you won't be able to add, modify, or delete variations outside the Sellbery products in the application.

Please note that you still can edit your products in External Systems like eBay or Etsy, but we don't recommend doing it. Instead, all necessary changes should be made in Sellbery so that they will be easily applied to all your listings in the External Systems.


Use Cases


For example, you have Shopify and Etsy channels with variable products, and you want to connect them.


Scenario 1


Shopify has products with variations, and Etsy is empty.


  1. Connect your Shopify store to Sellbery.
  • Products will be downloaded automatically.


  1. Import products from Shopify Export Service to Sellbery Products.
  • Your Shopify and Sellbery products are synchronized.
  • Sellbery handles all variations in Shopify products.


  1. Export products from Sellbery to Etsy Export Service.
  • Sellbery handles all variations in Etsy Export Service.
  • After mapping, you can upload products to Etsy.


  1. Upload products to Etsy.
  • Products uploaded to Etsy.
  • Shopify, Etsy, and Sellbery products synchronized.
  • Sellbery handles all variations in Shopify and Etsy products.


Scenario 2


Shopify and Etsy have products with variations.


  1. Connect your Shopify and Etsy stores to Sellbery.
  • Products will be downloaded automatically.


Now, you must decide where your products' complete and up-to-date data is. Let it be Shopify.


  1. Import products from Shopify Export Service to Sellbery Products.
  • Your Shopify and Sellbery products are synchronized.
  • Sellbery handles all variations in Shopify products.


  1. Link products from Etsy Export Service to Sellbery.
