Custom Attributes

Custom Attributes can be used in the Import Mapping. You can map these attributes to the corresponding Export System fields in case there are no default attributes matching the required property. You can also include Custom Attributes in Shortcuts and create specific rules and conditions for such fields.

There are two types of product attributes used in Sellbery Service - System and Custom.

System attributes are default hard-coded attributes that cannot be changed or removed. These are product fields common to all sales channels - basic fields without which a listing cannot exist. For example, Name, Description, Price, Quantity, Image, SKU, etc. System attributes may be mandatory or optional, but they are always on the list for each product.

Custom attributes are product or channel-specific fields created manually for some purpose. These attributes may describe an important unique feature of a certain product or a group of products in your store, as well as provide additional knowledge about your products that cannot be described by the means of default attributes.

There are two types of Custom Attributes on Sellbery - those imported from external channels and those created on Sellbery directly.

Custom Attributes are any attributes imported from External Channels and not mapped to any of the System attributes (Export Service Custom Attribute).
Custom Attributes can be created in a specific section of Sellbery Service and can be applied to any of the listings on Sellbery (Sellbery Custom Attribute).

How to Create a Custom Attribute

Go to Sellbery products > Any product.

On this page, you will see a list of custom attributes (imported or created manually) in your account.
In the Attributes section click Edit Custom Attributes to add or modify custom attributes.

Click Add Attribute in the top right corner of the page.

A window will appear on the right side of the page. Fill in the necessary fields and click 'Save'.

Name: Name of the custom attribute.
Key: A unique system key set for the custom attribute.
Field type: Type of the custom attribute. Select one of the following 4 types: string, text, number, date.
Description: A short description of the custom attribute. The description of each field type is shown in the tooltip.

Done! You have created a Custom Attribute and it is ready to work.

How to use a Custom Attribute

In the Attributes section click the Attribute list drop-down menu and you will see the Custom Attributes.

Select the custom attribute you would like to add. Once selected, it will be applied to the product and you can set the value for this field.
